I've been working hard at making pots for the upcoming holiday season. I'm especially loving the new 'love jugs' i've been making.  Check back in a few weeks for the finished product.

Over the winter I have been using pressed ferns from the autumn.
I'm happy to announce that I recently picked some fresh new ferns from across the street to decorate big cake plates and salad bowls.  The 1st ferns of the season!  I also planted a number of new ferns in my garden & I cant wait to see them in full bloom soon.

Saturday February 20th was an eventful day with lots of sunshine and mild temperatures.  Many kids stopped by my demo table and decorated clay tiles with snowflakes.  Once they are dried & fired...they will be on display in the gallery for all to see.  I'll post a photo when its complete.

Just finished making these lidded beauties.  In this picture they are just drying and in about a week when they are dry....I will bisque fire them.  Hope to have these finished for the Muskoka Arts and Crafts Spring Members Show.

I'm lucky to be making tiles for a kitchen backsplash.  It is an exciting challenge. Luckily I have many ferns pressed in newspaper to last me the winter of decorating.

PAINT BY NUMBERS 01/25/2010

Picture
It has been some time since my last post but SO much has been accomplished.  Lots of great renovations to the studio & gallery have been getting complete over the past few months.  I'm finally back in the studio working with clay on a regular basis and it feels good. Over the holidays I found this rose themed paint by numbers and I was drawn to it. I painted it over a few days and find myself wanting to get another.  I'm not entirely sure where this will lead but perhaps an idea is brewing for a set of wares that will have china paint by numbers on it. I'm liking this idea.

My first paint by numbers

Dinner Plates 09/25/2009

plates in progress
I am in the midst of glaze firing these plates now and keeping my finger crossed that everything goes well.  This image is the start on 20 fern dinner plates.  8 of them will go to a couple who ordered them in the summer and the rest will be part of a great dinner party.  I really want to have a dinner/lunch using an entire set of my pots and photograph it with the recipes of the dishes we ate.  I think it will be fun and beautiful.

Custom Work 08/18/2009

Any work available in the gallery or the studio can be made to order. This means you can get a piece with the exact size and design you want. It also means that the piece can be personalized with a date, name, or message.
